1Are the courses suitable for beginners ?
Yes. The curriculum is designed for beginners and you will start with the basics. At our school about 70% of the students are beginners. (*The Advanced Thai Massage course is for students who have learned Thai massage or have enough experience. )
2Is physical strength necessary?
Special physical strength is not necessary for the lessons. After acquiring the basics, you will be able to do massage for long periods of time.
3Can men take lessons?
Yes. But Oil Massage& Body Scrub Massage course and Lymph& Facial Massage course are few times in a year. Please check the lesson schedule.
4What is the age ranges of the students?
Many of the students are in their 20s to 30s. Teenagers and people in their 70s take lessons as well. Percentages are 80% female and 20% male.
5Will I receive a certificate after graduation ?
Yes, if you have finished a course properly you will get a certificate accredited by the Thailand Ministry of Education. * Advanced Thai massage should be taken with the Thai Massage Course, as well.
6Does the School provide an interpreter for students?
Yes. The School provides English textbooks, interpreter as well as Japanese interpreters.
7Therapist training course, what lesson comes first?
The Therapist training course includes a variety of massage lessons. The program is 24 days (190 hours). Each lesson starts by rotation so that students can begin from whatever lesson they like, not only from Thai Massage. (Advanced Thai Massage is preferable after taking the Thai Traditional Massage.) 8What is the schedule each day?
Lessons run Monday through Saturday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. (or 5:30, depending on the lesson) Sunday is a holiday. Lunch time is 1 hour from, 12:00 to 13:00. There is a 15 -30 minutes break time in the morning and in the afternoon between lessons.
9Can I practice voluntarily after the lesson?
Yes. If a student wants to use equipment such as a spa bed, the student should ask permission from a teacher. If a student wants to review massage, you can ask teacher for extra time. (1 hour costs about 600THB)
Travel, stay at Chiang Mai
1When is the day for check-in and check-out?
The day for check-in is the day before the course start. The day for check-out is the final day of the course.
2Travel Plan for last day of course
School will finish around 17:30. If you will leave Chiang Mai on the same day, it is better to book a ticket for after 19:30 (that is to say, an airplane departure time after 19:30).
3Do I need a VISA to travel to Thailand?
Most visitors may enter Thailand for 30 days (29 nights stay) without a visa. But please check the information with the Thailand Embassy. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your entry into Thailand and should have a return air ticket. Entry and length of stay requirements vary by country. Note, If you are a U.S. citizen tourist staying in Thailand for fewer than 30 days, you do not require a visa to enter the country, though the aforementioned passport requirements apply. 4What kinds of clothes are good for the climate?
Chiang Mai is surrounded by mountains and is known as a popular city for tourism. You can spend most of the time wearing summer clothes throughout the year. It is rather cold in the morning and at night from December to March, we recommend you bring warm clothes too. In the daytime sunshine is very strong that it may be convenient to wear such clothes as a cardigan, a hat, and a scarf which are easy to take off and put on. 5Should I exchange currency before leaving my country?
Mostly it is not necessary to exchange currency before leaving your country because you can exchange them at an airport or at a bank after arriving at Thailand. By using credit card such as VISA you can withdraw local currency from an ATM. (Please confirm with your credit card company. All consumer credit card companies charge commissions.)
6Where in Chiang Mai is the School Located?
The School is located in an area called Sanpatong which is about 30 minutes by car from the central part of the city. The School has a mini bus that runs between school and down town.
7What style of meals do you prepare for us?
The School serves meals in the morning and at lunch time. It is buffet style so that you can take any food you like from a large plate.
8Is there a laundry service?
There is a coin laundry which cost 40B each wash in the school premise.
9Can I access the internet?
Yes. The School provides WiFi and a computer for students to share at school. If you bring your own smartphone or note book computer you can connect to the internet via wireless from your room. （Thailand voltage is 220v. Recently most note book computers and digital cameras need 100-240v so that you will be able to use them in Thailand, However, please check electrical appliances before you leave your country.）
10Is there anything that I should bring for daily necessities?
We provide shampoo, conditioner, body soap, a hair dryer, bath towel, face towel, drinking water, tea and coffee at school buildings. It will be useful to bring your own medicine, mosquito repellent, etc for personal use.
11Is there any transportation service to the airport?
Yes. The school has pick up and return service to Chiang Mai airport free of charge twice a day: 11am and 20:30pm. Please let us know your flight number and arrival time before leaving your country.
